There are rumors that the Los Angeles Lakers are prepared to offer Jordan Clarkson and rookie Brandon Ingram to the Sacramento Kings for DeMarcus Cousins.

Cousins has been the subject of trade rumors for the past couple of years but no deals have come to fruition involving the two-time NBA All-Star.

Cousins has been with the Kings throughout his entire six-year professional career and the two parties have not tasted success together since the franchise drafted him fifth overall in 2010. This has led to yearly rumors that Sacramento is planning to trade him and move on, but the speculations have become louder this time around.

Earlier this month, a lot of unnamed NBA executives have commented with regard to Cousins' status in Sacramento, and most of them are saying that it is just a matter of time before a trade transpires, according to Sporting News.

Some say that Cousins could be shipped out of Sacramento as early as the "first half of December," while others believe that it will happen near the February deadline this season.

"I'd say they have three months, tops," a Western Conference general manager said. "Probably more like a month, or month-and-a-half, because the closer they get to the (February trade) deadline, the less they're going to get back. If you're trying to trade him the week of the deadline, it's going to be tougher."

The latest trade rumor about Cousins says that he could be dealt to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Clarkson and Ingram.

Inquisitr reported that since the Lakers are having a good start to the season, the team is now seen as a potential playoff contender "as early as this season." With that, they are expected to further strengthen their roster and could target Cousins to boost their post-season chances.

Furthermore, the Lakers' players are now deemed as valuable trade assets because of their recent excellent performances.

Clarkson, who comes off the bench for Lakers coach Luke Walton, is averaging an impressive 14.6 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.6 steals in 26.6 minutes per game. Meanwhile, Ingram continues to show a lot of potential in producing 6.7 points, 3.2 boards, and 1.6 assists in 22.3 minutes a night.
