The 12-year-old girl charged with attempted first-degree homicide after physically attacking another child has been declared as not competent to stand for trial by the presiding judge.

The Wisconsin judge assigned to the murder case of the "Slender Man" killer has deemed the suspect unfit for trial on the strength of the results of the 30-day psychological assessment conducted to determine the mental condition of the 12-year-old.

Anissa Weier reportedly stabbed a classmate 19 times on May 31. She was said to have been under the impression that she was doing it for an online horror character named "Slender Man". She committed the alleged crime with her friend, Morgan Geyser, who was also charged with attempted first-degree homicide. The psychological assessment findings for Geyser also prompted the Judge to rule against her competency to stand trial as of the moment.

A letter detailing the condition of Weier was sent by her attorney, Assistant State Public Defender Joseph Smith, Jr., to the presiding judge. Smith's letter included the professional opinion of a forensic psychologist who analyzed the 12-year-old's condition. This caused the judge to issue the ruling, stating that the professional findings provided "reason to doubt Ms. Weier's competency to proceed".

According to police records, the survivor escaped the attack by managing to draw the attention of a bicyclist passing by to the incident. She was said to have been lured by Weier and Geyser to go with them into a forest before stabbing her 19 times.

Stephen Lyons, the survivor's spokesperson and lawyer, shared that she is currently on a fast track to recovery. Moreover, her treatment and medication have been supported by the donations amounting to $60,000, which the family received from "Hearts for Helping", a fundraising page. In addition, she is said to be back at school.

"They're survivors. They rose above this horrific crime and they survived. And she is thriving. What an ultimate testimony of the human heart to know she can both physically heal and then emotionally begin this journey of healing," Lyons described the family in an interview.
