Chinese Basketball Association Round 26: Guangdong Southern Tigers Versus Sichuan Blue Whales Game Preview

Following their two-game winning performances in the previous rounds, the blue-chip team of Guangdong Southern Tigers will be looking to continue its string of victories when they face the defending champions Sichuan Blue Whales in the upcoming 25th round of the Chinese Basketball Association on Wednesday.

The Southern Tigers (21-4) will be coming into the game with a fresh 123-113 win over the Fujian Sturgeons last Jan. 4. Guangdong is likely to carry the positive effect of the team's latest triumph when they play with the Blue Whales, whom they have beaten in the previous round seven of the Chinese league with a 100-93 win last November 2016.

Guangdong's foreign basketball reinforcements Donald Sloan and Carlos Boozer are once again expected to carry the team to another favorable game result as the regular season resumes following the All-Star Weekend festivities.

Basing from the box score of the EuroBasket, in their initial game against Sichuan, the two former NBA players have a combined 50 points, 18 rebounds, and 10 assists. Sloan went on an 8-15 shooting from the field, while Boozer made nine of his 20 attempts from the two-point range.

On the other hand, Sichuan (13-12) will also be trying to repeat its latest win against the team of the Guangzhou Long-Lions when they enter the hard court against the Southern Tigers. The 2016 CBA Finals MVP Hamed Haddadi is expected to carry Sichuan in their next game assignment.

According to Asia-Basket, Haddadi is currently the second leading rebounder in the league while averaging 15.6 boards per contest. The veteran Iranian big man is also the CBA's eighth-best rim protector with an impressive 1.7 blocked shots per game.

In Sichuan's last five games, Haddadi registered a remarkable 32.8 points and 14.6 rebounds averages. The Blue Whales will be relying on his court presence knowing that the team currently ranks ninth in the league and with the season halfway finished.
