No longer a stranger to controversy, the daughter of Hong Kong's embattled leader CY Leung has yet again hit the social media with another questionable post on Tuesday.

Seemingly teasing her bashers over a necklace she wore in her profile photo on Facebook, Chai Yan Leung sarcastically 'thanked' Hong Kong taxpayers for paying for her luxurious apparel.

"This is actually a beautiful necklace bought at Lane Crawford (yes- funded by all you HK taxpayers!! So are all my beautiful shoes and dresses and clutches!! Thank you so much!!!!)," she wrote.

In her post, the young Leung belittled those who posted negative comments about her citing that she probably should not have said "all you" (referring to the taxpayers) as she noted that most of them are unemployed.

She even criticized how some comments seem to be below 'the standard English' saying that: "Actually considering the standard of English I've skimmed through at times I doubt you'd even understand what the term "social media platform" means... it's okay - your mother still loves you."

Several reports deemed this gesture the least helpful with her father's case whose resignation had been demanded by pro-democracy protesters during Hong Kong's long-running bout for universal suffrage and total autonomy from mainland China.

Not to put much pressure on her father but this follows after China had expressed their confidence on CY Leung's capability to handle the pro-democracy protesters on his own stating that the "central government fully trusts Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying and is very satisfied with his work."

After receiving the limelight she seemed to have grown into, Chai Yan's Facebook page has been taken down and was unavailable to confirm is such account with provocative comments was really hers though several respected Hong Kong newspapers have confirmed the authenticity of the page.

In the past, she had been involved in other scandalous posts over the social media including a self-harm photo showing her bloodied arm captioned: 'Will I bleed to death?'
