As Hillary Rodham Clinton weighs her 2016 presidential bid, she told a national gathering of women in Miami that her "grandmother glow" empowers her to push for pro-women's advocacy.

Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky is barely a week old, but already she appeared to be epitomizing the ideals her grandmother espouses.

The former secretary of state drove home some salient points on women empowerment and gender equality using little Charlotte as an example.

"I think my granddaughter has just as much God-given potential as a boy born in the hospital on the same day," the 2016 Democrat presidential contender told members of Commercial Real Estate Women Network.

Drawing from her personal and professional experiences, including her failed bid for the presidency in 2008, she made the case of how women today are still faced with double standards. She called on businesses and political leaders to step up initiatives and enact policies that will lend women an equal playing field.

Her entire speech stressed on the importance of giving women the same opportunity as men, citing that no country has ever really thrived by holding back the "contributions of half of its people."

Clinton talked of wage equality, paid leave and affordable child care anchored on the right policies. In the end, she referred to such policies as part of her vision of a country she would like Charlotte to grow up in.

The Clintons have made no secret of wanting to become a grandmother. In a televised interview in July, Hillary admitted to wanting to know how having a grandchild feels like.

Clinton has earlier said she will announce her plan to run for president on the first week of 2015. Her appearances throughout the midterm election trail are seen to have increased her exposure for her second presidential bid.
