Spooky Clowns Roam Around California Towns

People wearing evil clown costumes while wandering the streets have been troubling the residents of a California town lately.

Police records reveal that residents have been reporting sightings of sinister-looking clowns walking around in the middle of the night in San Joaquin Valley in California.

The most recent report of this incident was at roughly 8 p.m. on Saturday. A report from The Bakersfield Californian stated that the latest clown spotted by residents reportedly carried a firearm while roaming the streets.

Following the report, responding officers searched the area but found no one matching the description. However, Lt. Jason Matson from the Bakersfield PD shared that the recent incident was not the first time someone reported a "clown sighting", claiming that the same had been happening all over the town.

In another residential area approximately 30 miles away from San Joaquin, local residents also reported clown sightings. The clowns were said to have begun appearing in Wasco since Oct. 1. In describing the clowns, residents claimed that the costumes and props used are routinely altered.

In a report from KGET, some brave residents refused to cower in fear of the creepy clowns. Since the clown reportedly posts pictures in Instagram, these people even decided to go out and "hunt" for the costumed person terrorizing the area.

"Some of the residents go in cars searching for him," shared Noah Sanchez with KGET. "They have flashlights and try and spot him in neighborhoods after he posts to Twitter," he added.

Kern County Sheriff's Office deputy, Sgt. Ian Chandler, disclosed that people in clown costumes have been reported committing crimes in the area. However, no evidence actually linking the clowns to the crimes claimed has been established.

"We have had no reports of any assaults by a clown nor have we any arrests of any clowns at any time I have been here and I have been here two years," Chandler said.
