12-Inch MacBook Air with Retina Release Date in 2015

iPad Air 2 leaks

Apple could start mass producing the new large iPad in December but has instructed suppliers to hold off because the latter are still struggling to meet demand for the new iPhone  Plus.

According to reports, the iPhone 6 Plus production is unsatisfactory. Suppliers say the supply chain top priority is to meet the iPhone's overwhelming demand. It will be challenging if display makers were to split their resources and spend several months producing the larger screen iPad at this time.

The Apple 12-inch MacBook Air with ultra-thin profile is being produced now, according to reports. Production will be in full swing in November.

Reports also said the upcoming Apple MacBook Air won't be released in time for the Christmas season because production is currently not up to the level that can meet estimated demand. Some parts makers are trying their best to increase production.

It appears manufacturers are experiencing difficulties in producing the ultra-thin chassis. The current MacBook Air model is 13-inch thick while the next-gen MacBook Air model is down to 11-inches.

Reports say the MacBook Air will be available in two colors similar to the iPhone: gold and space gray. Others say it will come with fan-less internals. It means the device has an energy efficient processor that can handle internal heat.

The 12.9-inch iPad started to be in the news in 2013 and now, rumors about the 12-inch Retina MacBook have subsided because people believe it won't be unveiled this year.

The MacBook Air will likely hit shelves in mid-2015 while the 12.9-inch iPad Pro is slated to come out early next year.
