American officials earlier said Turkey has allowed the military forces fighting against the Islamic State of Iraq in the Levant (ISIL), also known as Daesh, to use their bases for operations but Turkish officials denied the claim on Monday.

Officials from the United States regarded the alleged approval of Turkey as a "breakthrough." but Turkey's denial has proven this statement false. On the other hand, Turkey did say that although there has been no deal signed yet, the talks are still ongoing.

U.S. President Barack Obama has been pushing and asking countries to join the coalition against Daesh and urged Turkey to secure a greater role in the said fight as they have already been a longtime ally of the White House.

The Turks have already said they will be supporting the coalition if and when it would also target the administration ruled by the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. The Turks blame al-Assad for the formation of ISIL.

The issue is to be approached from a "comprehensive perspective," an official from the office of Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said. Meaning, they will include safe havens and no-fly zones in the region.

However, the U.S. and Turkey still have not agreed upon a deal regarding air bases, the official added.

The no-fly zone will be another effort against the government of al-Assad as it will protect the Syrian rebels who are being trained and armed by the U.S. military officials. However, U.S. allegedly opposed this as it contradicts with the plan of the Obama administration to only eradicate the ISIL militants and not, in any way, touch the problems regarding al-Assad's administration although Obama is also against it.

The no-fly zones and the safe havens are still being considered especially by the State Department of the U.S.

Another senior Defense Department official from Turkey, who wants to remain anonymous, said on Monday that Turkey already agreed to use some of its bases. However, the details of how it will be used is still on the works. The official also slammed reports that Turkey and the U.S. are having disagreements.

Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said a team of American military officials will be arriving in Ankara this week to talk more about the deals and negotiations and to further understand the role of Turkey in fighting ISIL.
