Both the Xiaomi Redmi 1S and Sharp Aquos Crystal have a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 Cortex-A7 chip but Sharp's processor is clocked at 1.2 GHz while the Xiaomi processor is clocked at 1.6 GHz.

The Xiaomi Redmi 1S has a 1 GB RAM while the Sharp Aquos Crystal features 1.5 GB of RAM. Te Aquos Crystal runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat while the Redmi 1S runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with Xiaomi MIUI version 5 on top.

Both smartphones offer 8 GB of internal memory and microSD card support. The Xiaomi Redmi 1S can be expanded up to 32 GB only while the Sharp Aquos Crystal can be expanded up to 128 GB.

The Redmi 1S sports a 4.7-inch IPS LCD display with 720 x 1280 pixels screen resolution and 312 ppi pixel density. Meanwhile, the Aquos Crystal features a 5-inch TFT display with the same screen resolution and 294 ppi.

The Sharp Aquos Crystal and Xiaomi Redmi 1S both have a 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash. The Redmi 1S also has a 1.6 megapixel front camera while the Aquos Crystal has a 1.2 megapixel front camera.

The Xiaomi handset comes with a Li-Ion 2000 mAh battery while the Sharp handset has a Li-Ion 2040 mAh battery. The 8 GB, 4G LTE Sharp Aquos Crystal costs US$149.99 while the 8 GB Dual-SIM Xiaomi Redmi 1S costs US$97.
