Verizon Wireless has officially debuted its Droid Turbo earlier today, the carrier's new flagship mobile device to carry through the rest of 2014 and the first half of 2015.

Developed in partnership with Motorola, the Droid Turbo looks like a mix of the Droid Ultra and Droid MAXX from last year's lineup. It has a 5.2-inch Quad HD display, quad-core Snapdragon 805 CPU, 3GB of RAM and Adreno 420 GPU.

Battery life is a big winner on the Droid Turbo. With a 3900mAh battery, it should be capable of "two days" battery life, according to Motorola and Verizon Wireless. On the back, the Droid Turbo will offer a 21MP camera - the same size sensor as the Xperia Z3.

Motorola has designed the Droid Turbo with the same back in red or black. The phone is thinner than the last generation, with the Motorola logo dimple on the back, under the camera.

The Droid Turbo is a real contender when it comes to the best phone available right now. Motorola has packed the best battery possible into this device, alongside an impressive design and top of the line specs.

Software will be almost stock Android, with a few additional services from Verizon Wireless and Motorola. These are complimentary (from Motorola) more than annoying, like most services from carriers and manufacturers.

The Droid Turbo sales will start on October 30 for $200 on contract or $250 for a 64 GB option.
