Google Launches Inbox, the 'Future of Gmail'

Google has just launched its latest project, a standalone app called "Inbox," which is part of its a mission to reinvent e-mail as a whole.

Inbox is an app that makes email much more useful as it's got different useful and new tools. For one, it highlights the most relevant content of an e-mail so a user doesn't have to read the whole letter to understand what the message is about.

Another thing is that Inbox sorts emails by bundles so people can find important messages they've segregated much faster. Reminders can be added on Google now.

The app's developers noted the app won't replace Gmail but it is the future of Gmail.

"The way that people deal with their inbox has changed dramatically. We found people really wanted to run their life through their inbox - there was so much information there - but it was a lot of work for them," said Alex Gawley, product director of both Gmail and Inbox.

Inbox, as opposed to Gmail, is said to solve the real problems of email as a whole due to the three new tools. The first tool is highlighting that lets you see photos, videos, attachments immediately.

Next are bundles (also present in Gmail) that groups messages automatically but lets you create your own tabs.

And lastly, reminders, which are automatically pinned on top of the Inbox one can snooze if one wants to see it again a little later.

Other updates on this newest Google app are to be discussed in the future. Google's said to be thinking of replacing Gmail with Inbox once users eventually accept the latter.
