Microsoft acquired the mobile division of Nokia and rights to the Lumia brand but not its separate company, Nokia.

It was understood that Microsoft will phase out the Nokia branding on its products while a new report also claims the Lumia 730 and Lumia 830 will be the last devices to have the Nokia brand.

The report also says Microsoft will phase out the "Phone" from Windows Phone.

Notably, HTC One for Windows is one of the signs this could be true. Microsoft sources said the company plans to make the changes effective in 2015.

Lumia's official Twitter account has a post saying the Windows 10 upgrades will be available to all Lumia devices running Windows Phone 8 and higher. Microsoft revealed many details about Windows 10 PC version features but remained mum about its smartphone operating system.

While other reports take the official tweet that didn't mention the next Lumia OS upgrade as Windows Phone 10 or Windows 10 as a sign Microsoft is about to launch a single platform for all its devices, some say people should be cautious because the Twitter account can't be considered a mdeia channel.

Microsoft is said to be working on the new Lumia 940, which is rumored to be one of the first smartphones to have Windows 10 OS out of the box.

There was a promotional picture of the Windows 10 update for Lumia Windows 8 devices that states "One product family, One platform and One store."

It could mean all future Microsoft devices will run Windows 10, possibly starting 2015.
