(Photo : Reuters) Samsung has kept the Galaxy S5 sales secret, but new sources can confirm Samsung missed up to 40 percent of expected sales.

Samsung Galaxy S5 users under a Sprint contract have started receiving the Android 4.4.4 update.

It comes over two months after T-Mobile users receive the update. The new mobile operating system includes international Wi-Fi calling feature, security patches and HD voice icon.

The download release has started but it may take several days before it hits each device and notifies the users for installation.

This might be the last Android 4.4 KitKat version users will receive before they receive Android 5.0 Lollipop, which is scheduled for release in December.

Users in several regions, however, might not get the download until around a month or more after the first rollout because carriers have to actually get mobile the OS updates first.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 comes with a 2.5 GHz processor which is faster than the S4's 1.6 GHz chip and Qualcomm chip processors clocked at 1.9 GHz. It also has dust-proof and waterproof features, 5.1-inch organic light-emitting diode screen, 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution known as full HD.

The handset is available in white, black, blue and gold. It features an improved 16 MP camera with ultra-HD 4K video capture capability. It also comes in 16 GB and 32 GB storage variants with microSD card support that can expand it to 64 GB. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat and has mobile wallet support.

Other devices in Eastern and Central European countries began receiving the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update. It's the last Android KitKat build to be released as Samsung is getting ready to launch the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to other devices soon.
