Aaron Sorkin allegedly kicked out Alena Smith, one of the writers of the soon-to-end series "The Newsoom," after she objected to a college campus rape storyline to be aired on this week's episode.

In the said episode, the character or Don Keefer (played by Thomas Sadoski) interviews an outspoken female student who had set up a website that allows victims who have been raped on campus to report  the names of their attackers anonymously. The student was also a victim of rape.

The sub-plot follows a recent retraction done by Rolling Stone after the publication apologized for their "misplacement of trust" in a University of Virginia student, who they now are uncertain was gang raped at a campus fraternity.

Smith was said to have objected to the rape story being part of the episode, and that when she tried to argue her point, she ended up being screamed at and asked to leave the writer's room.

She said it wasn't an issue of gender. It was more because she had wanted to talk about the NSA, which was another sub-plot of the episode.

Smith took to Twitter to talk about what had happened.

Sorkin admitted that he did ask Smith to leave the room, stating, "I heard Alena's objections and there was some healthy back and forth. After a while I needed to move on (there's a clock ticking) but Alena wasn't ready to do that yet. I gave her more time but then I really needed to move on. Alena still wouldn't let me do that so I excused her from the room."

He added that he is extremely "disappointed" that Smith has decided to violate the privacy of the writer's room by telling everybody what had happened. Aside from being disappointed, Sorkin said he was surprised that she was upset, especially since she was happy about the final draft he had written for the said episode.
