Tesla CEO Elon Musk said automobile giant Ford is killing 'SEX' during Tesla's 2014 Annual Shareholders' Meeting on Tuesday.

The 42-year-old billionaire CEO of different innovative companies, which include Space X, said that one of his friends made a joke that the behemoth automobile manufacturer is killing SEX - the proposed name for Tesla's next-generation electric cars.

Musk has electric vehicle models in line with controversial trademark names.

The first is the Model S, which is a sedan that is taking Tesla a long time to manufacture. The next vehicle is named the Model X, an electric SUV crossover that is still in development. The last planned vehicle of Tesla's next-generation electric vehicles, is supposed to be called the Model E, which if not for trademark rules, would have completed the word S-E-X.

Ford already claimed the letter E after it filed for various trademarks since 2000 many of which were abandoned. Tesla tried to trademark E, but after several months Ford applied for a new application for its Model E.

Tesla did not pursue the trademark effort anymore after Musk said he received a call last month from Ford and threatened to sue him.

In a statement issued by a Ford spokesperson, it said that Ford company is just trying to be true to its original agreement both parties entered in 2010.

"In response to a request from Tesla for Ford's assistance with a trademark issue, Ford and Tesla entered into a contract in 2010 in which, among other things, Telsa agreed not to register or use Model E.  When Tesla later sought to register the Model E trademark, Ford insisted that Tesla abide by the parties' earlier agreement.  The matter has been resolved amicably," the statement said.

In related news, Musk assured the company's investors that he would stay at Tesla four to five more years down the road. His stay would mean he would be still around when Tesla starts working on the company's third vehicle.

However, Musk also said that nobody, including him, can be a CEO of any company forever.

"Eventually, they carry you out," Musk said.
