Woman Claims She May Have Spotted Missing Malaysian Airlines Jet While Sailing Across Indian Ocean

A British woman has only now come forward to claim that she may have seen the missing Malaysian Airlines jet MH370 while sailing across the Indian Ocean with her husband.

41-year-old Katherine Tee was on a sailing voyage to Thailand one night in March and reported seeing what appeared to be a plane on fire.

Tee was on night watch duty while her husband was asleep below deck and one other crew member was asleep on deck.

The plane originally caught her attention because she said she had never seen an aircraft with orange lights before. Tee then realized that the orange lights were fire and that the plane was trailing black smoke behind it.

The Liverpool native had been at sea with her husband on their 40-foot yacht for over a year leading up to the strange sighting.

As to why Tee passed the sighting off as a hallucination and brushed the occurrence under the rug - she said she thought it was her imagination or that she was mad as the incident was so unbelievable.

According to Ms. Tee, that wasn't the only thing she saw in the sky that night. The UK resident told sources that she saw two other planes passing above the aircraft and going in the opposite direction.  As they had regular navigational lights, Tee assumed that they would report the blazing plane.

The search for the missing flight is still underway and has been clouded with speculation and conspiracy theories as to what really happened when MH370 disappeared nearly three months ago without a trace.

Tee now regrets waiting so long to come forward as authorities have had no luck in locating the jet thus far.

"All I can confirm is that I have since learnt that we were in the right place at the right time, so it seems possible, but I chose to sweep it under the carpet and now I feel really bad," she said.
