BlackBerry has officially launched the BlackBerry Classic Q20, which is a new smartphone that still has a physical keyboard and trackpad.

It's the successor of the company's best-selling BlackBerry Bold 9900 released in 2011.

BlackBerry is already accepting preorders for the BlackBerry Classic business phone, which started weeks ahead of its official launch. The BlackBerry Classic costs $449 in the United States without a contract.

The Shop BlackBerry online store says the BlackBerry Classic does not support carriers such as U.S. Cellular, Sprint and Verizon in the U.S.

Reports claim Verizon and AT&T have already confirmed they will sell the BlackBerry Classic. The availability and pricing of the handset are currently unknown.

BlackBerry also confirmed the BlackBerry Classic will be out in Canada via several carriers. Rogers, Telus and Bell will sell the smartphone with a two-year service contract for $50.

The BlackBerry Q20 Classic is reminiscent of the older BlackBerry smartphones because of its four-row physical QWERTY keyboard and a square-shaped trackpad.

It features a 3.5-inch display with 720 x 720 pixels protected by a Gorilla Glass 3. The BlackBerry Classic is powered by a Snapdragon dual-core Krait chip which is clocked at 1.5 GHz along with 2 GB of RAM and Adreno 225 graphics.

It comes with a 16 GB internal storage that can be expanded to 128 GB through a microSD external storage. It has an 8 MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2 MP front camera.

It's preloaded with the BlackBerry 10.3 operating system and supports Android apps on the Amazon Appstore.
