Tracy Morgan Rep Reveals Extent of Actor's Injuries

A representative for Tracy Morgan released a statement earlier today stating that the actor is reportedly still in critical condition but more responsive and showing signs of improvement.

The 30 Rock star was in a six-vehicle car crash on Saturday morning which killed fellow comedian and friend James McNair and left Morgan in a critical state.

According to an official report released by Morgan's rep, the actor suffered a broken leg, femur, nose, and several broken ribs.

"While Tracy remains in critical condition, he has been more responsive today, which is an incredibly encouraging sign," his rep told Access Hollywood on Sunday.

However, Morgan won't be leaving the hospital any time soon and will most likely remain there for several more weeks, reports state.

As previously reported, Morgan was in a limo bus with six other people when the vehicle was overturned.

Morgan's assistant Jeffrey Millea and comedian Ardie Fuqua were also critically injured, while comic Harris Stanton was treated and released from hospital. Two others in the limo walked away from the scene without any injuries, including the driver.

35-year-old truck driver Kevin Roper is believed to have caused the crash when the 18-wheeler he was driving plowed into the back of the limo after Roper failed to notice slowing traffic.

However, the New Jersey Turnpike where the crash took place has often been referred to as "The Big Road", "The Monster Road", and "The Black Dragon" due to the sinister tendency the throughway has of experiencing fatal collisions on its lanes and byways.

The highway posts speed limits of 65 mph, but with so many lanes and opportunities to speed, traffic is slotted to easily surpass 80 mph.

At the time of Morgan's accident, the Turnpike was reportedly experiencing a decrease in fatal crashes with only nine deaths in the last year as opposed to 24 in 2012. The highest recorded amount of deaths on "The Black Dragon" was in 1973 when 79 people lost their lives traveling on the heavily-trafficked freeway.
