In total, the 62-year-old country music singer wowed his audience with 20 of his No. 1 hits and walked away feeling like they had put on one of their best shows to date.

The concert capped off Strait's "Cowboy Rides Away" tour at the AT&T stadium in Arlington, Texas and, with 104,793 people in attendance, broke the record for the largest indoor concert in North America.

The show was so big that it broke the 33-year-old record of 87.5K which was previously held by the Rolling Stones.

The "Cowboy Rides Away" tour began last year and each of the 45 stadiums and arenas the country music star has played in have completely sold out. It is estimated that Strait has played to around 1 million fans during this tour season.

The Texas born-and-raised resident has more gold and platinum albums than any other music act except The Beatles and Elvis Presley.

The concert marked the final one in Strait's 40-year career on the road, but doesn't mean that the music legend will be completely leaving the country music scene. Last year, the star renewed his deal with MCA Records which has him slotted to produce five more albums.

The "All My Exes Live in Texas" singer also suggested that he won't be ruling out completely all future public performances and may consider playing a few select dates per year.

Strait also thanked his fans for sticking with him for over three decades and told them:

"As Arnold Schwarzenegger says, 'I'll be back,'" he said -- hinting that country music fans haven't seen the last of him.
