Samsung is bolstering its efforts in the tablet market and, in an attempt to compete with Apple's iPad Air and iPad Mini products, is releasing a family of Galaxy S tablets which will make fans of the firm drool.

Not only are the new 8.4" and 10.5" Galaxy Tab S tablets armed with sharper, brighter displays, but come with a fingerprint scanner for added security.

Samsung implemented its popular Super Amoled screens which allow for deeper blacks and more vibrant colors, experts say. These displays have a pixel resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 and a touted 100,000, making them more efficient than the current TFT screens which competitors such as Apple use for their products.

With an eye on making products that or more compact and easier to carry than Apple products, Samsung also tackled the issue of weight and thickness. The new Samsung Galaxy 10.5-inch model weighs a mere 465g as opposed to the 469g of the iPad Air and is also slimmer at a 6.6mm thickness as opposed to iPad Air's 7.5mm.

The 10.5-inch tablet will also feature a Bluetooth keyboard which will allow users to turn it into a laptop.

The products will run on Android KitKat 4.4 and will come with 3GB of RAM and either 16GB or 32GB of memory. A miccroSD slot will be included in the tablets, allowing for storage space to be  increased up to 128GB.

Devices are expected to be available as of next month although Samsung has not yet released a set roster of prices for the tablet line.

Already, customers loyal to Samsung seem to think that the company will be giving Apple a run for their money with these new and improved tablets, and the Korean tech giant seems likely to draw in a wide-range of new customers looking to upgrade their mobile devices.
