After being spotted wearing bands on her ring finger, Lena Dunham's friend and "Girls" co-executive producer had to set the record straight - the actress-producer isn't engaged to her boyfriend, musician Jack Anotonoff.

"We have friendship rings. They're a stack of three. We both wear them on that finger for some reason - that's the finger they fit on - and those are our friendship rings. When they announced that she was wearing an engagement ring, I was like, 'Yeah, to me!'" Konner laughed.

Dunham agreed, saying that she is indeed engaged to continue working together with Konner for the rest of her life.

What amuses Dunham about all these engagement rumors is that while everybody has been focusing on the stack of three rings, nobody has yet to comment about the diamond ring (not an engagement ring yet, folks) Antonoff has actually given her.

"It's funny, I have a ring that my boyfriend gave me that I wear on my right hand, and like, clearly nobody gives a s--- about - it's like a diamond!" the author-actress added.

Dunham shared that Antonoff's mother, who has a Google Alert on him, was momentarily in shock about the news and the fact that they had learned about it online rather than from her own son.

She shared that if they were to get engaged, they wouldn't want to do it New Year's Eve since it's too "basic". They'd rather be more creative about it.

Engaged or not, Dunham has much to celebrate as HBO just renewed "Girls" for a fifth season.

The star shared that she is definitely looking forward to the next one, since it sees her character Hannah becoming more mature and achieving personal growth.

"I think she's putting herself in new and challenging situations and pushing herself forward, even when it doesn't always feel good," Dunham shared of her character.
