After pro-adultery online platform Ashley Madison was shut down in Singapore last November, Noel Biderman, the site's CEO is finally speaking out about life after being banned in both Singapore and South Korea.

The site is based out of Canada and has seen success in Asian countries such as Japan and Hong Kong. In an early interview, Biderman claimed that it would not be too much of a challenge to spread the platform to other countries in Asia.

However, almost immediately the site faced enormous challenges in Singapore and South Korea. In Singapore, infidelity is grounds for divorce, while in South Korea marital cheating is illegal and disloyal spouses can face up to two years in prison if caught in the act.

Biderman voiced suspicions that South Korea may not have banned the site had Singapore not already set precedence.

He points to Ashley Madison as a "communications platform" and states that authorities have no way of proving that members of the site have encounters of a sexual nature with one another.

The platform markets itself as an online dating service and social networking service for those who are already in relationships. The slogan of the site is: "Life is short. Have an affair."

Reportedly, the name of the site is derived from the two popular female baby names 'Ashley' and 'Madison'.

Although users in the two countries cannot access the website, they can easily bypass government restrictions by using VPN accounts and setting their locations on Ashley Madison as Singapore or South Korea.

Currently, Ashley Madison boasts over 135,000 members in South Korea, and around 25,000 in Singapore.

Despite restrictions in these two nations, Ashely Madison has been a huge hit in countries like Japan where the platform hit a million users in under nine months.
