Suspect in 'Slender Man' Stabbing Case Found Mentally Incompetent to Stand Trial

One of the 12-year-old suspects involved in the disturbing Slender Man stabbing case  has been found mentally incompetent to stand trial, reports state.

Morgan Geyser and cohort Anissa Weier have been charged as adults for attempting to murder a fellow classmate. Allegedly, the two pre-teens were attempting to please 'Slender Man' - an internet meme of a fictional character who often appears in horror stories and is known to abduct children.

The two girls have shown little remorse while the trial has been carried out and appeared composed on Wednesday as a doctor for the state of Wisconsin as well as another hired by the defense came forward to present their medical findings.

The two authorities stated that at least one of the girls, Geyser, is mentally incompetent, and the defense was granted the right to test both girls for mental disease - a move which could eventually lead to an insanity plea for at least one of them.

According to reports, the two girls planned for months to kill a school friend. The gruesome duo hoped to gain the favor of Slender Man and eventually go to live with him in his mansion, which they believed was in a forest in Wisconsin.

Geyser and Weier lured their 12-year-old friend to a park near one of the suspects' homes where they proceeded to stab her 19 times in the arms, legs, neck and torso. The two then left their target to die.

The unidentified victim managed to crawl for help and was later found by a passing cyclist who called 911.

One of the suspects later told police that a killing was necessary in order to climb the ranks of Slender Man's realm.

Following testing for mental disease, a hearing to determine Geyser's mental competency to be tried as a sane adult will be held August 1.
