Microsoft has updated its Office for iOS suite to include various third-party storage options, including Dropbox, Box and other cloud storage providers like iCloud.

The news comes just a few weeks after Microsoft added Dropbox support to its desktop Office suite, showing the Redmond-based software giant is willing to work with others.

Apple forces some apps to work with its iCloud service, meaning even if Microsoft doesn't want to include Apple's rival cloud storage service, it had no choice.

OneDrive is more easily integrated into Office for Mobile. Even if Microsoft is showing it can partner with other companies, it would rather subscribers use its own cloud storage service.

Third-party storage services can be found on 'Locations' and users can choose different places to store each document if they have more than one cloud storage subscription.

Microsoft is looking for further integration on its Office suite from companies like Salesforce in a move to "make people love Windows", according to CEO Satya Nadella.

It's an interesting move to integrate heavily with third-parties. While it might bring less control and customers to Microsoft's OneDrive service, it also makes users more comfortable on the platform.

OneDrive unlimited storage is available for free to anyone with an Office 365 subscription, meaning if any mobile users have an active subscription there is really no reason to use any other storage service.
