Google has updated its Play Music service with 50,000 storage space for songs.

Google has announced a huge upgrade to its music storage for Google Play, now allowing 50,000 songs to be added for free instead of 20,000.

This pretty much eliminates any need for an MP3 player or media storage device considering the songs can be imported from iTunes and other platforms.

The previous limit was 20,000 songs. That's already enough for the average music listener but the increase to 50,000 should keep even veteran music buyers happy.

Users are able to download and stream certain songs on an Android device through the Google Play Music app. Google offers its own streaming service for those who don't want to store music but just stream, offering a 3 million song library.

Google's Music app for iOS has also been updated to allow 50,000 songs in cloud storage.

Apple's alternative is iTunes Match, a service with a limit of 25,000 songs for $24 per year. Google offers the Music service out for free in the hopes it will get users hooked on cloud storage and buy it in bulk.

Google has often been generous towards customers when it comes to cloud storage. It offers 100 GB free when you buy a Chromebook and has very cheap options if customers want excess storage.

The yield rate of users paying for cloud storage is quite low on Google's end, however, compared to other companies like Dropbox and Microsoft OneDrive.
