The Chinese government also announced a 10% tax exemption for every purchase of an electrical car starting Sept. 1, 2014 until the end of 2017 in a massive campaign to combat pollution and save energy.

An NGOA spokesman said that these rules not apply to government sectors but also to regional public institutions as well where the fight against pollution has been a challenging task. These regional public institutions and local government departments include the Yangtze River Delta, the Pearl River Delta and the Beijing,Tianjin and Hebei region.

Subsidies will be given to government and public agencies for the purchase of electric cars and other energy efficient vehicles that will cost less than 180,000 yuan or US $29,186.

Charging stations will be implemented along with other necessary infrastructures to help maintain and promote this new campaign. Beijing plans to produce 10,000 public charging poles for these electric cars by 2017.

These charging poles will be installed in every public place imaginable in the city and this includes public parking lots, train stations, airports, highway rest areas, electric car stores and even gas stations according to the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission.
