Chinese smartphone maker Meizu has announced a partnership with Flesky, the third-party Android keyboard company.

It's part of a continued effort by Meizu to broaden its own user experience through the M1 Note and other devices as it tries to surge upwards in the Chinese market.

Flesky is noted as one of the best third-party keyboards due to its precision and simple user interface. The World Record holder for fastest sentence typed on a smartphone used the Flesky keyboard.

The keyboard normally comes with a fee, but Meizu has worked out a partnership to pre-load it on smartphones. It's not clear how popular Flesky is in Asia, where Meizu is most popular.

Meizu is still in the shadow of the three major providers in China: Xiaomi, Huawei and Lenovo. Its high-end products have been marvels to look at but the price is a bit too high for most Chinese customers that don't want to buy Apple.

Apple's growth in China only further hurts Meizu's chances of success but it's clearly ready to battle with new partnerships to make its own experience better.

Xiaomi has its own partnerships to win over customers, but none with Western app makers. Oppo (owner of OnePlus) has also worked with Western companies like Cyanogen that recently moved away from OnePlus for Indian smartphone maker Micromax.
