Professional golfer Tiger Woods breaks 70 at the Masters for the first time since the final round of the tournament at 2011.

While it may sound improbable that golfing great Woods has not shot in the 60s at the Masters, it is no less true.

Last Friday, Woods shot a 3-under 69 in the second round of the 2015 Masters.

Speaking to ESPN, Woods said that it had been a solid day. He said he gave himself plenty of looks out on the field. He ended by stating that overall, he made some good par putts to keep the rounds together.

Woods has hit 14 of 18 greens on Friday. It was a relatively large improvement from the previous day.

Thursday already felt as if Woods was going to improve from his first-round 73. The struggles he had experienced that day were indicative of rusty play, not an indication of any lingering issues that may pop up at any time.

When he finished play in the afternoon on the weekend, Woods was knocking on the door of the top 10. Given that Woods was nowhere near this quality of play 10 days ago is a feat unto itself.

While Woods' skills seem to be returning, he chose a wrong time to return to the tournament.

Jordan Spieth is leading the tournament and looks to run away with it all. Nobody seems to even be breaking the surface of Spieth's level of play.

When asked to comment on Spieth, Woods said that anything can happen at this point.

"You can play well here and shoot over par. I've been there before. Then again, there's a pretty big separation right now between first and third. I didn't have that back in 1997."

He is optimistic that he can shoot ahead as he is only 12 behind with not that many people in front of him. With 36 holes left, anything is possible for Woods.
