The site added that Musk even scolded one of his employees who "missed an event to witness the birth of his child." Musk, on an email, reportedly said to an employee that there is no excuse and he is disappointed to what to had happened. He even said that the employee should need to know its priorities.

Moreover, one of the employee at Tesla and now CEO of the electric-vehicle manufacturer Proterra Ryan Popple stated on the book that when an employee complained about working too much, Musk always said that they will have plenty of time for their families when the company will be bankrupt.

The book also illustrates how Musk prioritizes his work "above other things including his personal life."

The entrepreneur is reportedly working for at least 23 hours a day, while his employee works for 20 hours, said Julie Ankenbrandt, who worked with Musk at the start-up X.com that later merged with Confinity, cited Washington Post

On the same book, Musk revealed that vacation can kill someone. It should be noted that in 2000, Musk nearly died from a malaria infection following his trip to South Africa and Brazil.

However, in the latest report of The Verge, Musk posted a tweet and denied that he scolded an employee for missing an event to witness the birth of his child. He said that the book is not "independently fact-checked" and it should be taken with a grain of salt. Also, the quote that describes Musk as a "samurai" is incorrect and added that the claim was "BS & hurtful."

In addition, the said quotes about Musk does not necessarily suggest that the writer, Vance himself, have read the email as the book descriptions says it is written with an exclusive access to Musk friends and his family.

To write the book, Vance is reportedly had interviewed 300 people and spent 30 hours conversation with Musk.
