An app named "Wish" was recently launched and was designed to capture the Chinese market, which is famous for low cost products. This is said to be the perfect app for those online shoppers who prefer low cost over the delivery time.

The app was developed in a firm at San Francisco and is currently attracting a lot of users from all over the world, in an attempt to use this cheap online bazaar, according to Nuzzel. Most of the items which are listed in this app are shipped directly from China. Being called as the "anti-Amazon," this e-commerce app compromises heavily on delivery time, delivering the items in weeks or sometimes even later than that. This is in sharp contrast to Amazon which has a quick delivery schedule and is even famous for its priority shipping features.

Till now, more than 100 million free accounts were registered and proudly boasts of nearly 40 million items from around 100,000 shops and merchants, states The Wall Street Journal. This app is not only luring in more and more customers, investors are also showing a lot of interest with the app. Wish's parent company Context Logic Inc. recently closed a funding deal of nearly $500 million from Russia's DST Global and got around $3billion from GGV Capital.

Similar to eBay, Wish aims at capturing the entire marketplace, including shipping though it does not support the inventory system and takes a 15 percent cut in each sale. There are 400 employees working for Wish currently, and they did not disclose the financials of the company when probed. The executives of the company did give a hint or two about perusing an initial public offering, the time for which was not mentioned. Also, they plan on going international very soon.

Wish is currently giving a very tough competition to online retailers like iMerchandise and Old Gory.
