NBA Trade Rumors: Bulls Considering to Trade Joakim Noah

After yet another disappointing playoff loss to archrival LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Chicago Bulls are reportedly considering to trade center Joakim Noah this offseason to try and transform their roster into a sure-fire title contender, according to Mark Schanowski of CSN Chicago.

Noah, a two-time All-Star and the NBA's Defensive Player of the Year in 2014, seems to be playing at a decline, posting mediocre averages of 7.2 ppg and 9.6 rpg during the recently concluded regular season. It was the lowest output of his career since the 2009-2010 season.

Noah's had his own knee problems earlier this season, which may have contributed to his dropping stats. Another speculation is that the presence of Spanish stalwart Pau Gasol may have also been affecting his game because they were virtually playing the same position.

While the rumors are loud, many analysts are thinking that the Bulls trading Noah would be highly unlikely. Grantland's Zach Lowe said that Taj Gibson is more likely to get traded than Noah.

The 30-year old Noah had played his whole 8-year career for the Bulls, and had become its designated heart and soul particularly when former NBA MVP Derrick Rose was sidelined by knee problems during the past few years.

Also, the Bulls are risking their team defense and locker room chemistry if they let Noah go, writes Dave Daniels of Pippen Ain't Easy. Noah is also a fan-favorite at the United Center. Bulls fans would surely be disappointed if they find out that their beloved center had been traded.
