Barcelona Transfer Rumors: Dani Alvez, Xavi Set to Leave Camp Nou

Barcelona may have successfully clinched the Spanish League crown and moved one win away towards becoming the Copa dey Rey and European champion once again, but they are expected to lose some of their key members in Dani Alves and Xavi at the end of their campaign.

Xavi, who has been the team's primary playmaker the past few years, explained to El Pais his reasons why he's going to leave Camp Nou this year. The crafty midfielder believed it's about time to begin a new chapter after playing for Barcelona since his early years, saying his head and his body wants him out but his heart will always remain with Barca.

"I've enjoyed it as a child. And I've also suffered," Xavi said about his struggle and success in playing for one of the most revered football club in the world. "Because I now feel happy and I'm very proud of what I've achieved and of the way I'm leaving. But I've passed through bad moments, I've suffered a lot, honestly."

Xavi, will join Qatari team Al-Sadd, added that he really considered leaving Barcelona last summer, but the arrival of Luis Suarez helped change his mind and stay for one more years because of a gut-feeling that it would be a terrific year.

Barcelona is indeed having an awesome season after a slow-start, as they went on to reclaim the Spanish La Liga crown and booked their spots in the Copa del Rey (vs. Athletic Bilbao on May 30) and UEFA Champions League finals (vs. Juventus on June 6).

Meanwhile, Alvez isn't happy with the way Barcelona is handling their contract negotiation, threatening to leave the ball club at the end of the season. The veteran footballer thinks Barca has undervalued him a lot to the point that he feels disrespected.

"I won't accept that they underestimate what I have given to this club," Alves told Euclides Montes of the Guardian. "They haven't given me the value I deserve."
