NBA News & Rumors: LeBron James Speaks Up On ‘Dellavedova is Dirty’ Sentiment

You can always count on the King to be there for all his loyal subjects when they needed him both on and off the court.

In the interview right after the Cleveland Cavaliers put the Atlanta Hawks to the brink of elimination in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals, LeBron James passionately defended his teammate Matthew "Delly" Dellavedova against ongoing conversation that the 6-foot-4 Australian is a "dirty" player, according to ESPN's Dave McMenamin.

"I'm a little bit off about it because this is my guy, this is my teammate," James said, with Dellavedova sitting beside him. "He doesn't deserve it and I don't like it."

Dellavedova is being accused by some players, and some of the media as well, of being "dirty" because of the recurring incidents involving him seemingly trying to hurt his co-players on the court.

Foremost of his accusers is Atlanta's Al Horford, who said that Dellavedova already has a "track record" for physically harming opposing players, as per Yahoo Sports' Marc J. Spears.

Talks began during the second round series against the Bulls. Delly was involved in an altercation with power forward Taj Gibson, causing the latter to be ejected after he kicked the former while on the ground as their legs get locked together in a play.

Next was in Game 2 of this conference finals when he accidentally caused Kyle Korver's right ankle sprain while diving for the loose ball.

Then, finally, the entanglement with Horford that caused the All-Star center to be ejected, which proved crucial down the stretch of Game 3.

The King seemed pissed off that the accusations about Delly was more of a news than the historic performance he made Sunday night.

"Are we going to talk about us trying to win basketball games or about those guys trying to figure out a way that Matthew Dellavedova is this type of ... this guy, he works his tail off every single day," James said, as reported by USA Today's Jeff Zillgitt. "He beats the odds, and he comes to play as hard as he can every single night. If they're focused on Delly, then they're focused on the wrong thing."

Now, King James is right on the money with that.
