In what may be considered as extending the olive branch, Chinese government has asked Indian IT firms to set shop in the tech city, currently being developed in the South West region.

According to Digital News World, China has openly expressed its keenness on inviting Indian IT firms to open their organizations in the tech city that is being developed in the South West part of the country. The sprawling IT City is an ambitious project that is being supervised by the Chinese government. Citing the potential of Indian IT companies, China has invited them to set shop in its country, which clearly indicates that the two Asian giants are keen on strengthening their economic ties for better cooperation on all fronts. Even during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to China, the major topic of discussion was focused on ways to strengthen the economic ties between the two countries.

As per Hindustan Times, Guizhou province, located in Southwest China, is fast-emerging as the hub for cloud computing and big data. By extending this invitation, China's core purpose is to ensure that even the Indian IT firms are a part of this hub. In an effort to further reiterate this intention, representatives from more than 24 Indian companies interacted with their Chinese counterparts at a meeting held in Guian New Area (GNA) on Tuesday. The meeting also included government officials and representatives from the Confederation of Indian Industries. The core agenda of the meeting was to develop a blue print of the plan to increase the participation of Indian IT firms in the upcoming Chinese Tech City.

So far, one Indian company - NIIT - has confirmed their foray into the Chinese market by signing an MOU with the government. As per the agreement, NIIT will set up a centre in GNA that will help in training more than fifty thousand students, which in return will also contribute towards the promotion of Guian as the next prominent centre for Big Data.

Meanwhile, Wang Jianping, vice-governor of Guizhou province, who was present at the gathering praised the Indian IT companies for the growth that they have achieved.
