There are lots of rumors surrounding the New York Knick's consolation no. 4 pick in the coming NBA draft. Consolation because they are supposed to be having the Lakers' second pick after finishing the regular season second from the cellar. But with L.A. leapfrogging them at no. 2, they are left to be contented with the fourth one.

Consider the following speculations: First is the report that Phil Jackson might want to trade it for a proven young veteran as he is said to be not familiar with rebuilding a team and wants to be a contender right away. Second, the Wolves are allegedly gauging interest for Ricky Rubio and a deal with the Knicks to acquire a second top five pick is one of their options. Third, New York is reportedly eyeing Kentucky standout Willie Trill Cauley-Stein to be their 4th pick on June 25 to reinforce their flimsy frontline, as per Lexington Herald-Leader's Ben Roberts.

Well, add to that a fourth rumor from Bleacher Report's Sam Spiegelman in the form of Ty Lawson or Kenneth Faried plus the Denver Nuggets' seventh pick in the draft for the Knicks' fourth and possibly other assets.

Now, that's something that should interest President Jackson of New York.

The article continued that the Nuggets are reportedly keen on dispatching either player, or everyone else on their roster for that matter, in order to reset and rebuild the whole team, and they want all the possible high picks that they can get in return.

Denver Post's Mark Kiszla suggested that because Phil Jackson and company were all upset of the "bad bounces of the ping pong balls" and "have little patience for a slow rebuilding process," then they may want to give up their no. 4 pick and some other assets for one or both veterans.

If the deal materializes, then Jackson would have immediately resolved all of his current problems. Lawson will fill the team's need for a steady playmaker while Faried would instantly make their frontcourt more formidable. However, as Kiszla pointed out, the question here is whether Denver would want the Knicks to have this kind of luxury since they have the right to swap picks with New York in next year's draft.

Of all the options, this seems to be the juiciest one for Jackson and the Knicks, and probably something that they cannot afford to miss.
