With the Boston Celtics' fascination with Cleveland's Kevin Love reportedly dying out, the team is now setting its sights on another All-Star big man: DeMarcus Cousins. And the 17-time champion franchise is not the only team interested in Boogie. Bitter rival and 16-time champion franchise Los Angeles Lakers is allegedly in the talks as well.

It's Celtics versus Lakers all over again. Although this time, it's not for the NBA title.

According to Bleacher Report's Sterling Xie, Celtics' general manager Danny Ainge "will go all-in" this offseason for the 24-year-old, 6-foot-11 center. With two first round and second round picks in the coming NBA Draft plus a few key players to bid, the Sacramento Kings, who are also currently upgrading, may find themselves entertaining a trade.

Basketball analysts, however, are not counting on the Kings to trade the best player in their lineup for a couple of picks that would just make their rebuilding longer. But veteran coach George Karl had been known in the past to completely tweak rosters that anything is possible out there in Sacramento.

Meanwhile, SB Nation's Drew Garrison reported that the Lakers have the assets that could make a trade involving Cousins "worth considering." There were speculations that the Lakers might trade the no. 2 pick and a role player for the chance to acquire an already polished young big man to become an instant contender.

By doing so, the Lakers will not have to go through the painstaking process of developing their first-rounder, which would give main man Kobe Bryant a final legitimate shot at the championship before he retires.

A starting lineup consisting of Cousins, Julius Randle, Wesley Johnson, Kobe Bryant, and Jordan Clarkson is playoff ready, although they may need one more All-Star to seriously vie for the Larry O'Brien trophy.

Sports World Report indicated that Boston is also interested in trading for Denver Nugget's starting point guard Ty Lawson. Although the Celtics have overachieved this year by qualifying for the playoffs, they are still in the middle of a massive team rebuild themselves. A potential franchise center and a spitfire playmaker could make their retooling plans go faster.
