In 2015, McLaren welcomes their old partner Honda as their new engine supplier for 2015 Formula One Season.

With the 2009 Formula One World Champion Jenson Button having the chance to drive for another year and bringing the 2005-2006 Formula World Champion Fernando Alonso back since he left in 2007, the team is confident they have the two of the most experience drivers on the grid who were former World Champions themselves.

Unfortunately, the team had a difficult season, only scoring 4 points in the past 7 races. With the issues on their power unit, the Japanese company is keen to bring their new & improve power unit as soon as possible following consecutive retirements due to technical problems in recent races, with three in a row for the Spaniard.

Despite this troubles, McLaren and Honda are working closely to improve the power unit to better incorporate into the MP-40 to give them hope towards the end of the season.

Aside from the engine, McLaren plans to upgrade the chassis & aerodynamic side of their car. After making a remarkable progress in the past few races, they believe they can get closer to the top level team coming in the second half of the season.

However, Racing Director Eric Boullier admitted there is more pressure than normal from the team owners because of the poor showing of McLaren this season. He added that pressure is always there, but they want to continue to be competitive because they are up against the best manufacturers in the world & everyone wants to win.

Senior Managing Director of Honda's R&D department Yasuhisa Arai still believes McLaren is on the right path to become competitive before the season comes to an end as they are focused to get to the bottom of these problems.
