England often brought in thier best everytime they face against a good team like Slovenia, but things had gone differently when Milivoje Novakovic attempted the goal and found the net in 37th minute of the game, putting Slovenia up 1-0.

England pulled themselves back into the game, with Raheem Sterling  playing with confidence like what he did last weekend friendly game against the Republic of Ireland. But the spotlight was on Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, who countered with two goals of his own from outside the box to the delight of thousands of fans watching at the stands. His second attempt from around 25 yards was the best goal of the game.

But Slovenia wasn't finished yet. When England was about to put the game out of reach. Manchester United defender Chris Smalling and Chelsea FC defender Gary Cahill got careless, allowing Slovenian player Illicic to create a way to slip the ball through to his teammate Novakovic, who headed the ball to the goal and put the game at 2-2 deadlock.

But Rooney made sure no crazy comeback would ever happen against them as he scored the match-clinching goal in the 85th mark. With another goal in the bag, Rooney is now just one point behind Sir Bobby Charlton as England's all time leading goalscorer. More importantly, he gave England their 6th victory in a row in the qualifier to stay atop their group with 18 points.

After the match, ther mangager Roy Hodgson told ITV's live broadcast via the FA.com, "In the second half, he took over the midfield, creating chances, doing his job defensively too and chipping in with two goals."

Hodgson was pretty delighted for this exciting victory and also Jack Wilshere's performance after a tough time on the bench of his club Arsenal because of the injury he sustained during the 2014-15 Premier League season. England manager just never lost his faith on the young lad natural talent.
