It seems that whoever is seen with pop brat Justin Bieber just makes it to the news.

And Shanina Shaik is one such person.

Hours after Bieber's squabble with "Lord of the Rings" star Orlando Bloom, the 20-year old singer was spotted hanging out with Aussie model Shanina Shaik on a yacht. Many speculated that the two might be somehow romantically involved, especially due to Bieber's apparent proclivity for Australian models (can you say "Miranda Kerr"?)

Although the "Baby" singer was quick to deny dating rumors with a photo of the two on his Instagram with the caption "Me and the beautiful @shaninashaik and don't even start with dating rumors," people are still curious as to who the model is.

So who is Shanina Shaik? Here are five facts on the Aussie beauty:

1.     She has a diverse background.

Although Shaik was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, her mother is Lithuanian and her father is a Pakistani-Saudi Arabian.

2.     She competed on "Make Me a Supermodel".

Shaik competed in the Australian reality show, "Make Me a Supermodel". She ended up being the runner-up to Rhys Uhlich.

However, she hates talking about being part of the show in interviews because according to Shaik, being attached to a reality show doesn't exactly help models with their careers.

3.     She is the former girlfriend of "The Fast and the Furious" actor, Tyler Beckford.

The two met on the set of "Make Me a Supermodel" and dated for four years until they split in 2013.

4.     She has a pretty impressive modeling resume.

Shaik started modeling at the age of 8, doing catalogues for Target and K-Mart.

Her other modeling gigs include walking the runway for Victoria's Secret, Bebe by Kardashian, Project Runway and Emu Australia; appearing in catalogues for Macys, Free People, Bloomingdales, J. C. Penney and Seafolly; and being part of ad campaigns for brands such as Bonds, Aéropostale, Cotton On and Olay New Look.

5.     She loves selfies.

Out of her more than a thousand photos on Instagram, a significant number of them are selfies of a bikini clad Shaik.
