Microsoft casts doubts on its consumers when they released the new version of Windows 10, saying it's free.

According to Mashable, the series of confusion began when questions were raised whether the new version is also applicable to pirated Windows versions and how long will the trial period last.  In a blog post written by Microsoft's Gabe Aul, it stated, "As long as you are running an Insider Preview build and connected with the MSA (Microsoft Account), you used to register, you will receive the Windows 10 final release build." While the original post contained the phrase "and remain activated," it was obviously modified to remove the said statement bringing the confusion whether the Windows 10 version is really free for good or only during its trial version.

The contradicting statement of Microsoft's personnel against the company's beliefs have also raised concerns on the part of their consumers. Terry Myers, Windows OS chief said, "We are upgrading all qualified PCs, genuine and non-genuine, to Windows 10." The statement shed light on the issue of pirated copies which were also included in the upgrade. Questions about Microsoft's sincerity about anti-piracy laws were questioned after the statement was made.

Microsoft's bid to engage even the pirated versions of Windows came from the fact that China, one of its massive users of the said Microsoft product, runs on pirated versions, and with Microsoft's efforts to "re-engage" them, they opted to include non-genuine products to their upgrading.

In a statement made by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, she said,"We want to make Windows 10 the most loved release of Windows. We are going to have services everywhere. But when it comes to Windows, we're not bolting on apps." The breakthrough that was revealed on Windows 10 is its new browser, code named: Project Spartan, a browser literally made available for PCs, phones and tablets.

Joe Belfiore was keen on introducing some of Windows' new  features that included the Start Menu and its ability to extend to a full screen mode once activated. A semi serch engine called "Cortana" will also be available.
