LG G4 Specs, Features: The Good, The Bad, And The Buggy [REVIEW]

(Photo : Reuters) How does the latest in LG's flagship smartphone stack up against the competition?

The LG G4 marks the last of the smartphone flagship releases that still featured "outdated"  systems and hardware like an old-school user interface, a removable battery and expendable storage system. However, it does have a lot of things going on for it, such as excellent camera quality, rich display, and a sleek, leatherback design.

Sleek Style

While the LG G4 is bound to have other designs in its arsenal, most review units came with a tan colored leather back covers, which is a perfect match for jeans pockets, not to mention the fact that it looks sleek and professional. The phone is also easy to grip, with a slightly curved 5.5-inch display that isn't as big and bulky as other flagship smartphones.

User-Friendly Visuals

The G4 offers excellent graphics that are quite pleasing to the eyes. For instance, the phone shows blacks adequately, and provides a perfectly vibrant array of colors. Unfortunately, as Android Authority noted, there are a few nuances in the graphics that can be clearly observed, such as the clear smoothening of some areas, as when scrolling through text, which could be brought about by the fact that the phone inadvertently lowers its sharpness at some point to conserve power consumption.

Excellent Camera Quality

One of the most notable things about the G4 is its large back package, which fortunately translates to high quality photos. The sensor comes withj a f/1.8 aperture lens, as well as laser autofocus, flash, and a cool color spectrum sensor. The front camera is an 8 megapixel unit that comes with its own gesture features, such as triggering a countdown by closing the hand in front of the camera.

Bugs and Fixes

Many LG owners are complaining about certain bugs in their G4 phones. Among the most common are touchscreen that becomes unresponsive to touch commands. LG itself acknowledged the problem, and proposed that users simply upgrade their keyboards as this is the main cause of the issue.

Another common problem is constant lagging, especially when switching between different apps. Digital Trends proposes that toggling Dual Window off, or using a different type of launcher could do the trick.
