Critically acclaimed first person shooter game, BioShock, is being released on the iOS late next month.

The dystopian Art Deco-inspired game will soon be available on iPhones and iPads with only some minor differences from the original 2007 title.

BioShock will arrive on the iOS on September 22 and will later be available for the iPad Mini 2, iPad Air, iPad 4 and iPhone 5.

Unfortunately, this game isn't available for earlier Apple devices.

There is no word yet on how much BioShock on mobile will cost but 2k China says it will be a premium priced mobile game.

When this mobile version is played using a Bluetooth controller, it's almost similar to the seamless game play of the original console game, according to gaming site, Polygon.

From the same team that brought us the well received "XCom: Enemy Unknown" on the iOS, 2k China created this port that will no doubt re-live Irrational Games' magnum opus on mobile.

The game's graphics has been scaled down and special effects such as fog and dynamic shadows have been removed to fit the 2 GB size limit of Apple.

Mobile gamers may find it difficult to play BioShock via a touch screen but 2k China made sure the port has optimized touch controls and support for MFi (Made for iPhone) game controllers.

The best way to experience BioShock Mobile in all its glory is to use a controller on an iPad.

Touch controls may be more tricky and make for a more frustrating gaming experience. This difficulty is especially evident in multitasking and aiming, moving and shooting.

Developers, however, increased the auto aim, making a larger version of the hit box to enable players to aim easier.

The game includes a Bluetooth controller support, an overlay of touch controls along with a digital version of the art book included in the original game's special edition released in 2007.
