The exact details of the "old-timers" fight, such as the date and venue, are yet to be announced.

The 43-year-old Mosley (47-9-1-1, 39 KOs) had been on a decline and was 1-4-1 during his last six bouts from 2010 up to the present.

The Lynwood, California native suffered unanimous decision defeats in the hands of renowned world champions Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao, and also to up and coming fighter Saúl Álvarez. His most recent fight was again a loss to Australian Anthony Mundine as he was unable to continue in the sixth round due to back spasms.

Meanwhile, the 41-year-old Mayorga is coming off two consecutive TKO victories against American Allen Medina and Mexican Andrik Saralegui in 2014 after his TKO setback versus current middleweight champions Miguel Cotto in 2011.

The former welterweight and light middleweight champion had been out of boxing for two years before deciding to fight club boxers in Medina and Saralegui, as reported by SB Nation's Bad Left Hook. He was also reportedly overweight during those two matches, which puts into question his conditioning for this rematch with the still in shape Mosley.

Both fighters first met in 2008 with Mosley knocking out Mayorga during the last second of their 12-round bout. The match would have been pretty close if it required a verdict and with the final second left hook that sent the Nicaraguan sprawling on the canvas, there was no need for the judges to come up with a decision.

An interesting note in this rematch would be Mosley's 24-year-old son, Shane Jr., fighting in the undercard of the event, via ESPN. It is going to be history in the making as it is unprecedented in the sport that a father-and-son tandem will be featured on the same fight card.

Shane Sr. was training his son while on hiatus and had been vocal to the media about his desire to promote Shane Jr.'s early boxing career. The younger Mosley won four of his first five matches with his only loss on a controversial decision.
