Based on the study published Wednesday, researchers discovered that education levels have an outright impact on human's health. In the United States, the effectiveness of higher education could prevent deaths in significant proportion, Perf Science noted.

According to NYU Public and Population Health associate professor and study co-author Virginia Chang, educated people have higher income, healthier behavior and better social and psychological well-being. The purpose of research also suggests education establishes a good metric of health risk since it can help predict the future career path and income potential of a person.

Moreover, Chang emphasized that higher education can lower obesity rates. It also has a direct impact on an individual's cognitive skills, which can help prevent several diseases. She added that people with more education are knowledgeable about risk factors of various illnesses and are familiar about the new developments in treatment.

Illiteracy has contributed to too many deaths globally since lack of education is as deadly as smoking, researchers said. And through a comprehensive analysis of population data from 1925 to 2010, they discovered that millions of people worldwide could have lived longer if they were educated, Examiner reported.

Researchers also found that more than 10 percent of American adults did not graduate from high school. Though 28.5 percent did graduate from high school and college, they did not go on to complete a Bachelor's degree. Due to these results, researchers said several thousand lives could be saved with measures to ensure better education, Times Gazette has learned.

Indeed, continuing education for a higher learning capacity can make you enjoy a better mental health and live a longer life. Thus, the research further pointed out the fact that with more education, a person had lower risk of death and allowed people to improve their health in so many ways.

With these trends changing, researchers are hopeful that education can be able to alter the mortality rates impacted by mental incapacity and ignorance due to lack of education.
