Mamadou Sakho has been recently linked to Serie A side Lazio, though it appears Liverpool FC has no plans to sell the 25-year-old French centre back, via Metro.uk.

Sakho wasn't a regular starter at Liverpool FC in the past two years. He has only managed to score 1 goal in 46 appearances in all competitions. This 2015 pre-season fixtures, the Reds have started Dejan Lovren along with Martin Skrtel at the backline, prompting Reds fans to question if Sakho is important for manager Brendan Rodgers.

At the moment, talks had been made between Liverpool FC and Lazio over a potential move of Sakho to Serie A this summer. An account disclosed that Sakho isn't happy in his current club and he is really keen for a move, in line with his agent's effort to continue to pursue the deal.

Echo reporter James Pearce, who is pretty well connected with the Mayserside club, has insisted that Martin Skrtel and Mamadou Sakho will be the first choice defenders for next season, while Dejan Lovren is the third choice although he has been the starter for the pre-season matches.

Pearce asked on Twitter, whether Sakho will leave the club this summer as Lazio is interested for his services. He has strongly denied it and said that he is going nowhere.

"To be honest, there was nothing to the story. It seemed like a media fabrication from a non-reputable Italian website, based on which English papers gave too much credence to the report," Pearce said via Soccerlense.

Liverpool FC is currently processing the move of striker Christian Benteke from Aston Villa, which means there is no room left for centre-backs before the transfer market close. Therefore, the Reds are probably not signing another player after Benteke move has been completed.

Moving on, forward Rickie Lambert is heading towards the exit to join West Brom Albion this summer. His move could be finalized within this week. While no transfer fee has been cited, the Reds should not expect to obtain an attractive fee for Lambert who has been struggling during his time at the club and obviously he has only a year left on his contract.
