Mandopop singer Jane Zhang sure hope did not make a loud bang as she fell off the stage and into the elevator hole during her Bang the World concert in Beijing. On August 1, Zhang was performing for the second to the last leg of her concert tour in China when she made the unfortunate step backward and slipped into the hole.

According to one report, Zhang was just 15 minutes into the concert with her hit song "Bang Bang" when she suddenly dropped into the two-meter shaft behind her. A backup dancer was seen rushing to Zhang to prevent her from falling but was a second too late as the singer already disappeared from the stage. For a few seconds, the rest of the performers continued the number until it was halted and replaced with a piano act by singer-songwriter Reno Wang. Meanwhile, Zhang was immediately taken by members of the production to a nearby hospital.

Following his performance, Wang welcomed back Zhang, who reappeared on stage in a white ball gown and seated on a chair through the same elevator hole she fell into. Wang, sensing that Zhang still felt shaken by the incident, gave the pop singer a comforting hug. Zhang became emotional as she apologized to the audience and alluded the accident to her "carelessness and unprofessionalism."

After confirming that she sustained minor injuries and bruises, Zhang insisted on continuing the concert that marks her 10 years in the music industry. To show that she could bounce back following a mishap, Zhang reportedly requested the staff to remove her chair and let her sing and dance for her fans unaided.

The 30-year-old diva began her series of concerts on June 27 in Shanghai and toured six more cities in China for her anniversary. It was during these showcases when she first performed "Fighting Shadows," the promotional theme song of "Terminator Genisys," live. During a heartfelt performance in Changsha on July 6, Zhang revealed the identity of her long-time boyfriend and proposed to him on stage. Her concert series will wrap up on August 8 in Dalian, Liaoning province.
