Prince Albert II of Monaco will be immortalized on screen come 2018. The prince thinks Hollywood actor Vin Diesel will be fit to play him onscreen. The movie "Royal Ice" will chronicle the story of how the Monaco royal led bobsleigh team to the Olympics in spite of severe opposition from his father Prince Rainer III, the then ruler of the principality.

Bobsleigh is a winter sport which is played on an ice track with a gravity-powered sled. The film will account how the 57-year-old prince led his country's small team without having a history of playing the game, People reported. Besides, Monaco was short of space and also snow to practice the sport.

The inspiration behind the film is Mark Thomas, a screenwriter and member of Monaco's original bobsleigh team. The prince said that the movie was not his idea, contrary to reports that appeared in a section of the media. "We're not trying to make "Cool Runnings", which is an excellent film," Albert said.

However, the story of "Royal Ice" is remarkably similar "Cool Runnings", a 1992 sports-comedy classic. The film will be directed by Garry Marshall of "Pretty Woman" fame, according to The Hollywood Reporter in May.

Meanwhile, Albert who is the son of Oscar-winning legendary actress Grace Kelly, who later became Grace of Monaco, is slightly worried about his family being portrayed onscreen. He is wary more so because of the dispute concerning fictionalized aspects in Nicole Kidman's "Grace of Monaco" that released in 2014. The Monaco royal family condemned the film publicly.

"I haven't really given that much thought to who might play the role, though I hope it would be someone reasonably athletic," he said talking to People. Albert added that he had no personal preferences as to who would play his character, but seemed to think that Diesel or someone slightly balding who fit the bill.
