The "Dancing with the Stars" judge Julianne Hough is engaged to her hockey player boyfriend, Brooks Laich. The 27-year-old announced the news to her followers via Instagram Tuesday.

The two-time professional champion of DWTS wrote: "We are overwhelmed with joy and excitement to share with you our recent engagement!" The picture shows the blonde beauty on the arms of her fiancé, while she looks at her ring. The couple appears to be on a deck with a red ring box, which sits on a railing.

The picture shows a waterfront and mountains in the background. It hints at the fact that the pro hockey player asked for her hand in the romantic backdrop. The couple is currently on vacation with her family.

"Niece and Nephew time on the lake! Couldn't be happier!!" Hough captioned another picture recently. Hough, who grew up Mormon, has four older siblings, including Derek Hough. However, the 32-year-old Laich was born and raised in Canada. He is a centre forward for the Washington Capitals ice hockey team.

The couple are spending some time to relax together over the summer. Wedding bells are not anytime soon for the couple as the hockey season starts in October. Hough is also all set to star in Fox's "Grease: Live" in which she will play Sandy opposite Aaron Tveit as Danny Zuko and Vanessa Hudgens as Rizzo, E! News reported.

Hough and Laich began dating in Dec. 2013. She was reportedly engaged in 2007 to fellow dancer Zach Wilson before dating country singer Chuck Wicks from Aug. 2008 to Nov. 2009 and then, more famously, Ryan Seacrest from April 2010 to March 2013. But, it was in Dec. 2014, when she realized her feelings for Laich and shared it on Instagram.

Meanwhile, big brother Derek said that he "couldn't be happier." He revealed that Laich was a very traditional man and even sought the permission of their father for his sister's hand. The professional dancer said that the whole family was on vacation at their lake house, and at the end of it, Laich proposed to his sister.
