Former IBF welterweight champion Shawn "Showtime" Porter (26-1-1, 16 KOs) recently expressed his desire to fight fellow welterweights Danny Garcia (31-0, 18 KOs), Keith Thurman (26-0, 22 KOs), or Marcos Maidana (35-5, 31 KOs) if a match with pay-per-view king Floyd Mayweather Jr. is not going to be possible.

Showtime was reportedly contemplating on when he will fight next after outpointing Adrien "The Problem" Broner in June and said he wanted to fight one more time before the year ends.

Porter's father, trainer and manager, Kenny, recently said that they hope to face current WBA (Super) and The Ring magazine light welterweight titlist Garcia sometime this fall, yet there are still no negotiations happening as of the moment.

The elder Porter cited Garcia's comments that said he is a "better fighter" than Showtime and that he would "counterpunch" and "beat" Shawn if ever they face each other in the ring. The 27-year-old Philadelphia native also said that Porter was "tailor-made" for a fighter like him.

Kenny received Garcia's statements as an indication that he would accept any potential challenge from their camp and so the father/coach revealed that they even went to New York to support Garcia during his August 1st fight with Paulie Malignaggi, according to Boxing Scene.

However, Porter's father also said that Garcia's camp seems to be ducking his son as he said that "they didn't want to discuss no fight with us" during the post-match press conference.

Boxing News 24 reported earlier his month that a potential Porter versus Thurman fight may happen on October 3rd under a PBC card, but Kenny said that he and their camp "have not gotten any response" yet from the 26-year-old Clearwater, Florida native.

Showtime is 27 right now and, just like Garcia and Thuman, is also under Al Haymon's umbrella which should make any possible match between the three easy to negotiate.

A third option for Porter is former WBA welterweight champ Marcos Maidana, who has not fought at all in 2015 and is coming off two straight losses to Mayweather.

Tha Boxing Voice reported that Porter prefers the Maidana fight because of the Argentine boxer's long layoff and expected rust after earning two huge paydays last year. It was reported that the 32-year-old El Chino is out of shape as of the moment and might be the easiest fight of the three.
