iPhone 6, iPad Mini 3, iPad Air 2 Release Date Nears

iPhone 6

Apple is expected to soon start mass production of the iPhone 6. Analysts say it will probably be during the last week of September.

Apple's suppliers have reportedly begun manufacturing the new iPad tablets in another effort to reverse the device's declining sales. Apple created the market for tablets in 2010.

Tablet growth, however, plummeted in 2012 when bigger phones became successful and consumers didn't replace their tablets, said Bloomberg.

Mass production of the iPad Mini 3 and the iPad Air 2 has started and the release dates for the two tablets will arrive separately between September and December, said Bloomberg.

The iPad Mini will be a 7.9-inch tablet while the iPad Air will have a 9.7-inch display.

The larger iPhone 6 assembly will start soon, if it isn't already underway. New supply chain developments in Asia point to timelines that involve Apple's main manufacturing partners.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company has delivered the first mass shipment of A8 processing chips that will likely power the iPhone 6.

Apple also shipped 13.2 million tablets in June and this number is eight percent lower than 2013. Tablet sales accounted for 15 percent of the company's revenue but fell short of expectations for the second quarter.

Apple has yet to announce the next-gen iPad Air tablet but photos already online show a Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

The Touch ID feature confirms what KGI Securities Analyst Ming Chi Kuo said in May. He said Apple will look into using new chemicals to improve the durability of the Touch ID sensor.
